Australian Open in Bondi

Following a successful stop during the Australian Open Trophy Tour, Bondi Beach will get an even bigger taste of tennis this summer with the Australian Open Live Site.

From the 26-30 January, the iconic Australian landmark will showcase all of the quarterfinal, semifinal and finals action from the Australian Open on a massive 6x4 metre screen.

Bondi Beach provides a unique Australian Open viewing experience for visitors, combining fantastic summer weather with picturesque Australian sunsets. Bondi Park will be transformed with deck chairs and seating which will allow visitors to sit back and relax as the world's best players get down to the business end of the tournament.

With fully licensed Jacob's Creek and Heineken bars on site, and a great selection of snacks, the site will be a great place to catch up with friends during the day or after work to watch the matches.

Waverley Council Mayor, Sally Betts said "If you can't go to Melbourne, this is really the next best place to watch the Australia Open. Bring a picnic and enjoy this free event".

Wednesday 26 - 10am till end of play (bar must close at 10pm)
Thursday 27 - 10am till end of play (bar must close at 10pm)

Aquabumps Aerial Shots on Australia Day

Don't miss your chance to star in Aquabumps aerial shots this Australia Day, look out for the helicopter between 1:30 and 2:30.

When: Australia Day 26th Jan 2011 between 1:30pm to 2:30pm

Where: Well, that’s the hard part, see on Australia day you have planes and choppers flying all over the place. So we can’t confirm our course until we’re in the air. But my first preference is to shoot Neilsen Park then Bondi then Tama then Bronte and ok, we might even make it down to Coogee and Cloey. If we can’t go south, we’ll hit the northern beaches like last year – Shelly, Manly, Freshie and Curly.

Suggestions: Take down an umbrella or colourful towel…just something that stands out so you can find yourself later.

Come down! It’s going to be 33 degrees.

Eva Rinaldi bodyart at Bondi Beach

Bondi beach-goers got more than they bargained for on Friday with a suspected Eva Rinaldi stunt.

Temperatures were rising as a dramatic rescue and resuscitation took place on the sand, however it was soon discovered that paramedics would not be required as it was only a case of art imitating life.

Check out more Eva Rinaldi human statue bodyart here.
