Genius + Bike = Maya pedal

These guys are truly inspirational, Maya Pedal is a Guatemalan NGO based in San Andrés Itzapa. They accept bikes donated from the USA and Canada which they either recondition to sell, or use components to build a range of "Bicimaquinas", (pedal powered machines).


The great thing about it is that nothing goes to waste, building simple effective machines that doesn't require fuel or generate pollution from bike parts. From Corn millers, blenders, water pump and washing machines they transform countless lives in the process.


Volunteers come from all parts of the world to help and take part in this amazing organisation, one day I hope I can visit them and help out too, for those who want to take part contact them here

Bike Lanes

Casey Neistat's awesome little video about his fine for not riding in the bike lanes in New York. It's great to see all the separated bike lanes in Sydney but Bondi just has some green painted onto the left hand side of the road right where the cars drive. Don't hate me for riding on the footpath!

Cycle in Cinema

Do you miss the days of drive-ins? Keen to catch some flicks out in the open? Well pedal into Taylor Square this weekend for the CYCLE IN CINEMA. First up this Friday is Queer Screen, a selection of films to help celebrate Mardis Gras. Check out the full program here.


Arrive early to plug your bike into Mag Rev’s generator stands and take turns riding to power the performance. Or if you're lazy, like me, bring a rug and save your energy for the ride home.

Bondi Bowl-A-Rama

VANS BOWL-A-RAMA comes to Bondi at the end of this month. Some of the best venue's across Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach play host to the biggest week of skateboarding infused cultural festivities in Australia from Tuesday February 21st, to Sunday February 26th. Culminating with the biggest professional concrete event in the Southern Hemisphere, Bondi Beach Skatepark will play host to the 8th annual Vans BOWL-A-RAMA Bondi on Saturday February 25th. Turn Bondi Pink This Sunday

The McGrath Foundation is turning Bondi PINK this Sunday (5 February) with a little help from the Bondi Lifegaurds. With a weather forecast of 29 degrees, there’ll be no better place to be, so gather your friends and come down to the beach between 8am and 1pm, wearing your best pink kit. The Bondi Lifeguards will be adding a splash of pink to their famous blue shirts, with pink boardies generously donated by ZANEROBEhttp://zanerobe.com/ and pink McGrath Foundation visors.


No pink in your wardrobe? Head down to the Bondi Pavilion to get some pink zinc in exchange for a donation or buy some McGrath Foundation merchandise. They’ll also be selling limited edition pink ZANEROBE boardies and t-shirts, so there’s no excuse to be seen in any other colour!


I'll definitely be heading down on my peach (pink-ish) beach cruiser to support this worthy cause.
